Finishing touches - Proofreading
If you provide us with your manuscript (ms) or similar, we will format and typeset it to produce a completed PDF file, which we can then send to our printers, who will finalise the production of your book. Before we go to the expense of printing, though, your formatted book must be proofread to remove those irritating little errors that creep in - a spelling mistake here, suspect grammar there, or maybe an entire paragraph or chapter heading missing.
Unfortunately, you are not the best person to check for these errors - you are too close to the ms, and well, the human brain being what it is, miss the same mistake time and again. That is why we recommend a professional proofreader for this time-consuming, but all-important task.
Cover design
If you only want to publish your book privately, for distribution amongst friends and family a professionally designed cover is not vital, but nevertheless desirable - you have, after all, spent a lot of time and emotional effort on your ms and you want it to be seen in the most positive light.
Should you, on the other hand, want to sell your book commercially, a good cover is indispensible - it's what sells the book in the first instance and lends it credibility. A poorly designed cover might well hamstring your magnum opus before anyone has had a chance to read it. Our team of reasonably-priced designers will give your book the necessary edge.
